IT Governance Independent Assurance Service

The objective of the IT Governance Independent Assurance service is to provide an independent view of IT controls.   Requirements of this nature may arise as the result of a company applying a recommendation contained in King III Principle 5.1 which states that the board should receive independent assurance on the effectiveness of the internal IT controls. In certain situations, auditor opinions may not be sufficient. This service is offered in order to satisfy such requirements.

  • Implement assurance service plan
  • Review assurance service results

The key roles required for executing this service are:

  • Project sponsor
  • Project manager
  • Project team
  • Project consultant


The toolset to be used will be dependent on the client and project objectives.  They will typically include:

  • King III
  • ISO38500
